Description

Gaining Victory Over Pain. For over 20 years, one drop of GLUMA has proved sufficient at preventing and reducing dentinal hypersensitivity for more than 150 million restorations. Results appear quickly and effectively, without the need for mixing or light curing.

INDICATIONS

To counter dentinal hypersensitivity:

  • On abutment teeth, prepared to receive indirect prostheses,
  • Under direct composite restorations,
  • Over exposed root surfaces following gingival recession.

ADVANTAGES

  • Gluma does not need light curing and hence does not affect the anatomy of crown preparations,
  • Gluma does not interfere with setting reaction of impression materials and hence can be used prior to (or after) impression making,
  • Gluma does not interfere with setting reaction of luting cements and thus can be used just prior to cementation/bonding.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

  • Gluma penetrates into exposed dentinal tubules (up to 200 μ) and forms multiple layers of protein septa which prevent inter-tubular fluid movement.
  • It produces a hermetic seal that acts as a microbial barrier, inhibiting bacterial growth.
  • It also help resurrects collapsed collagenous fibers, thereby improving the bond strength of adhesives.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Step 1: Using an applicator tip, rub Gluma over the exposed dentin for 30-60 seconds.

Step 2: Using water from 3-way syringe, thoroughly wash it away. There is no need to light cure Gluma.
