Description
BiteAl is a sophisticated composite material which contains powdered Aluminum to increase the integrity of the compound and provide the heat retention properties needed for efficient modeling. It is manufactured in the form of 7mm thick blocks in prefabricated trapezoidal shape which is ideal for taking a Centric Relation Bite Record in Full Mouth Rehabilitation cases with Unwind MD or other such deprogrammers. It can also be cut into smaller blocks n used for quadrant dentistry.
Use of thick blocks instead of stacked sheets of Aluwax is preferred as the latter tends to unravel upon biting thereby distorting the record. The wax wafer can be softened by heating it using a Microtorch gas flame or by immersion in hot water between 55° to 60°C. The wax wafer is designed such that it changes it’s surface gloss upon heating which is a vital clinical indicator of its readiness.
